Leanndria Halcro graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria. She then articled under Jared N. Craig. After successfully being called to the bar, Leanndria accepted an Associate position with CHS Defence. She is a determined and skilled advocate in the courtroom and when negotiating with Crown counsel. Leanndria recognizes each new client comes with their own interests, background, concerns and questions. She takes the time to get to know her clients so she can thoughtfully and creatively explore strategic options which align with each individual client’s needs. She explains the options and related risks to her clients in a clear, honest and straightforward manner, confirming their understanding and agreement of each step of the case’s development. Leanndria is dedicated to obtaining the best possible result for each of her clients.
In law school, Leanndria completed a clinical term with the Law Centre in Victoria. The Law Centre provides pro bono legal services for members of the public.
She also worked for a summer at Student Legal Assistance, located at the University of Calgary, assisting low-income individuals with their legal issues. Her first summer at law school she worked as a research assistant for three professors at the University of Victoria.
Leanndria also spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Hong Kong.
Before Leanndria attended law school she received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology at Simon Fraser
University.
Leanndria was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and is a member of the North Saskatchewan River Metis Nation. Now that she is settled in Calgary, she has adopted a rescue kitty she named Honey Oates.
Our office is situated on Treaty 7 and Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3 Lands.
